Data Usage Policy: Glycine
max and Glycine soja germplasm
genome sequences
As a public service, the
researchers who have sequenced the genomes of Glycine max and Glycine soja
germplasm are making these genome resequencing data available before scientific
publication according to the Ft. Lauderdale Accord (https://www.genome.gov/pages/research/wellcomereport0303.pdf). This project, "Large
Scale Sequencing of Germplasm to Develop Genomic Resources for Soybean
ImprovementÓ is being funded by the United Soybean Board, and three private
companies: Bayer CropScience, DOW AgroSciences, LLC, and Monsanto. For public access,
we are making these data sets available through SoyBase prior to peer-reviewed
publication. We are making these data available with the expectation and desire
to publish these data in a reasonable time without preemption by other groups.
By accessing these data, you agree not to publish any articles containing analyses
of genes or genomic data on a whole genome or chromosome scale prior to publication
by the PGC and/or its collaborators of a comprehensive genome analysis ("Reserved
Analyses"). "Reserved analyses" include the identification of complete (whole genome) sets of genomic features
such as genes, gene families, regulatory elements, repeat structures, GC
content, or any other genome feature, and whole-genome- or chromosome-scale
comparisons with other species including other soybean species and cultivars.
For specific questions about data use, please send your inquiry to Dr. Henry
Nguyen, nguyenhenry@missouri.edu.
If you will be employing these
data for non-reserved analyses, such as cloning a gene of interest, designing
mapping panels or to analyze a gene family etc., please reference the "Large
scale soybean genome re-sequencing consortium, pre-publication" in your
provisional citation.
These data may be freely
downloaded and used by all who respect the restrictions in the previous paragraphs.
The genome sequence information should not be redistributed or repackaged
without permission. Any redistribution of these data during the embargo period should
carry this notice: "The University of Missouri provides these data in good
faith, but makes no warranty, expressed or implied, nor assumes any legal
liability or responsibility for any purpose for which these data are
used." Once the sequences are moved to unreserved status, these data will
be freely available for any subsequent use. If you wish to use these data,
please contact Dr. Henry Nguyen, nguyenhenry@missouri.edu, and/or Babu Valliyodan, valliyodanb@missouri.edu with your plans, to ensure that
the proposed usage of sequence data is not a Reserved Analysis.
